Summary
We collect nothing. Everything Hybreak does happens on your iPhone, and your data never leaves your device.
No accounts, no tracking, no servers
Hybreak has no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no third-party SDKs, and no backend servers. The app makes no network requests of its own.
Camera, face data, and drink verification
Camera permission is used only for drink verification. Because you appear in frame when you verify a drink, this section explains exactly what happens to face data.
What is processed
When you verify a drink, Hybreak records a short video clip (about six seconds) or takes a single photo, on your device. Apple's on-device Vision framework analyses the frames to answer one question: did a sip happen? To do that, it measures frame by frame whether a face is present, where the face is in the frame, the position of the mouth (outer-lip points), the angle of the head, and whether a hand is near the mouth.
No facial recognition, ever
Hybreak does not identify you. It does not create, derive, or store a faceprint, face template, face signature, face embedding, or any other biometric identifier. It never compares one face against another, or against any stored reference. Hybreak cannot tell who you are — only whether someone in frame appears to be drinking.
Retention and deletion
The video clip is written to temporary storage, analysed on your device, and deleted immediately after analysis — including when the analysis fails or is cancelled. It is never saved to your photo library.
The frame-by-frame face measurements described above exist only in memory during that analysis and are discarded when it ends. They are never written to storage, and no face measurement is ever attached to your drink history.
Verification photos are saved inside the app's own private storage on your device, so that you can see them in your own history. They remain there until you delete the record or delete the app. They may be included in your device or iCloud backups, which are controlled by you and encrypted by Apple.
Sharing and storage
Face data is never shared with anyone. Hybreak has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no third-party SDKs, and makes no network requests of its own. No image, video, or face measurement is ever transmitted off your device. Face data is never used for advertising or marketing, and is never sold.
Schedules, streaks, and history
Your drink schedules, streaks, and history are stored locally on your device.
Screen Time and app shielding
If you choose apps to shield, that selection is stored on your device as opaque system tokens provided by Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework. Hybreak cannot see which apps you selected, and Apple's Screen Time framework enforces the shielding.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID subscription settings.
